Sunday Announcements – May 4, 2008

Can it be time to plan our summer schedule?  Yes, it can!  Please mark your calendars with the summer schedule change.  On Memorial Day weekend, COS will begin our summer worship schedule of 8:30 and 10 a.m. worship and 9:30-10 a.m. education event.

We also are marking our calendars and beginning the planning for our summer Vacation Bible School.  The dates are June 8 through 12 from 5 to 8 p.m.  The theme this year is Power Lab – Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power.  Watch for announcements, sign-up sheets and in the Connection for the many ways you may help with this special event!

The COS Nominating Committee is seeking volunteers willing to serve the Lord and the church as officers, elders and Board chairs for the next two year term – June 2008-June 2010.  Please prayerfully consider how you may best serve.  Has God given you a talent that you can use for Him here at COS?  Are you being called to stretch and learn new skills as you serve?  Speak to Pastor John if you need more info or want to volunteer!  The election of officers will take place at a Voters Meeting on Sunday, May 18th at 9:45 a.m.

Youth: Mark your calendars for May 9th and 10th!  We will be leaving Longmont at 4 p.m. to head down to Lutheran Valley Retreat Center.  There we will spend the night in a cabin and work all day on Saturday to get the camp ready for the camping season!  A list of things to pack is downstairs on the bulletin board near the sign up.  We will be back in Longmont late Saturday night!

We still have Albertson’s Community Partners cards available!  If you ever shop at Albertsons, stop by the church office to pick up your card which you can swipe every time you visit the store. COS will receive a percentage of your grocery shopping dollar without any cost to you.  Also available—gift cards for King Sooper’s and Safeway.  These $100 cards are accepted as cash at the supermarkets and their fuel stations.  COS receives 4% of your purchase price, again, with no extra cost to you.  Watch for new projects we hope to fund with the proceeds
