Pastor John & Judy Thieme
John Thieme was born in December 1961, the youngest of four children of Richard and Emma Thieme of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and remembers his own Pastor suggesting to him the Pastoral Ministry. Growing up John considered other careers but always felt drawn to being a parish pastor. He graduated Concordia College of Wisconsin, earning a B.A. in Humanities in 1984. He entered Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri in 1984 and followed with a vicarage in Friendswood, Texas . In 1988, he graduated with a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary. John met and fell in love with Judith Ann Gunderson while at Concordia College in Wisconsin. They married in May 1983. She studied classical piano and has been a team with John in ministry. In 1988, Pastor John and Judy began 11 years of minsitry at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lafayette, Louisiana. During that time, John served as a Circuit Counselor in the Southern District of the Missouri Synod, coordinating ministry efforts between local congregations and the district. He also served on the district Stewardship Committee. The Thiemes enjoyed the culture in Southern Lousiana, taking up Cajun cooking and distance running. In July 1999, Pastor John and Judy accepted a call from Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Longmont, Colorado. He serves with joyful enthusiasm and works alongside with his partner Judy, who leads the Praise Team in the Contemporary Worship Service.
